RUNWAY REVIEW: OLYMPIA LE-TAN SS14
Last night, Olympia Le-Tan unveiled her Spring – Summer 2014 sexy sailor collection at the Paris Aquarium. With their Blade Runner Sean Young hairdos, manga-esque pointy nails, fresh rosy cheeks and Manolo Blahnik suede peep-toes, the models trotted down the maze-like catwalk under the eyes of the whole Paris fashion crowd — and hammerhead sharks.
There were playful marine and literary prints — all drawn by Le-Tan’s father, Pierre —mixed and matched on adorably trimmed mini-dresses, crop tops, sweatshirts, micro-shorts and over-the-knee mackintoshes. Some wore latex outfits, while others were in piqué cotton and bead-embroidered large fish belts with matching clutches. In fishnet stockings suspended with military ribbon garters, marine-themed book-clutches or compass-shaped (!) ones for some, the OLT pin-ups walked down the catwalk with a smile on their faces, a flirtatious attitude and a perfectly well-tailored sailor silhouette. The Olympia Le-Tan sailor pin-up exuded nautical sophistication with a hint of modernity.
